Voiceover Accountability

Voiceover can be a solitary affair. We are entrepreneurs with little or usually no staff. It's just us on a daily basis. In the booth, scrapping for auditions, and making connections online. It can be isolating and lonely. Worse, who is there to pick you up when you need it? To push you along and encourage you? Your coaches, maybe, but most coaches focus on performance, not mindset, and not on a consistent basis. You might be an extremely disciplined person for whom this is not as big of a problem, but for some of us artistically minded, we need some help. We need accountability.

Generally, accountability is being held responsible for the things you say you are going to do. It's not as effective to be accountable to yourself, it's much better if you have an outside party. Not to shame or demean you, but to give you a little pressure and help you figure out why you did not achieve the action you intended for the week. Or celebrate with you for the actions you DID achieve! This is an invaluable service to keep you on track and motivated. Better still, in an accountability group, you get to do the same for others. It's easier to climb a mountain with others than alone.

Voiceover accountability works the same way, but specifically for Voice Actors. You said you wanted to contact a new coach and book some sessions, how did that go? You intend to send out 10 marketing emails this week. Did you get all 10 sent out? The goal could be anything from performance to mindset to business. Each week, the group is there to check in on your progress as well as encourage and support you.

I want to form my own Voiceover accountability group. I am looking for 5-7 Voice Actors who are serious about their craft. You can be full-time or part-time and it doesn't matter where you are in your journey. I just ask that you are not thinking about it or haven't fully committed to Voiceover. I want people who are 100% committed to succeeding in Voiceover, not matter what it takes. The group will be completely positive and you must give as much support as you receive. We will meet weekly on Zoom at a time that is convenient to all members.

If you are interested in joining my Voiceover accountability group, please email me at Feel free to share this message and recommend others you think would be valuable members. Thank you!
